SERVE

To serve is to lead with heart—quietly, intentionally and with unwavering purpose. In serving others, we discover our deepest strength, our truest calling and a grace that speaks louder than words. It’s not about recognition, but about presence; not about power, but about impact. Through service, we become more human, more connected and more whole.

Meet Joe Marcinek. . .

Joe grew up as an athlete—shaped by discipline, teamwork and quiet determination. He played baseball and hockey with focus and heart. But as the years passed, Joe became more than just an athlete. He grew into a deep thinker, artistic and intentional man. He balanced strength with sensitivity and brought a quiet presence to everything he did.

He was a devoted son, a loving husband and a dedicated father to his daughter. Joe was the kind of person who led by example—steady, kind and generous with his time. Even while facing cancer, he remained committed to showing up for others. He gave what he could, even when things were hard, because helping people mattered to him.

His passing was felt deeply by those who knew him. Joe’s unwavering love for his family, especially his daughter, served as a powerful reminder of how precious time really is. The way Joe lived with intention, grace and generosity helped inspire The Paradox of a Mortal Mind, a book Michael wrote to highlight the important lessons in life we will soon leave behind.

Joe had a gift for helping people, and to honour that, we’ve teamed up with Nankind. Joe’s legacy continues to impact lives. If his story moved you, please consider donating or volunteering in his memory. Whether through financial support or by giving your time to families affected by cancer, your contribution helps carry forward the compassion he lived by.
